Am I really a Daughter of God?

Many Christians among my fellow Millennial crowd seem to have forgotten, or never known the reality of who we are as adopted children of God through Christ Jesus our *Lord*. The true Jesus is holy, and His inspired Word warned us that “without holiness, no one will see God.”

Holiness isn’t something we can create from our own strength, but it is something we can cultivate from the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ who dwells in His daughters. If we NEVER think about being holy, then do we really have His *Holy* Spirit living within us? Because if His Spirit is holy, would His Spirit then fill us with thoughts that only center on entertainment, lust, selfish ambitions, money, gossip, and our own happiness?

I challenge you stop, to turn off your phone or put it in another room, and to find a quiet, private place where you can stop and consider what the majority of your thoughts and focus have been recently.

Jesus said, where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. Is your heart on self attention? Is it on everyone else and their lives? Is it on politics? Is it on Jesus?

Do you ever think, “Father, how can I please you today?” or “Father, that wasn’t pleasing to you. I’m sorry, Lord.” Or, “Help me follow You,” or “What do you think about this?” Or “What do you say about this matter?” If not, then His Holy Spirit isn’t leading you, your flesh is. And the Bible is clear:

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”-Romans 8:6-8

As a daughter of God by means of receiving the Holy Spirit by faith in Jesus’ Christ sacrifice and resurrection you never think about if you’re pleasing God or not, please pray and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and to help you be led by His Spirit. If you do this, and you are sincere, God will fill you and you will begin to notice changes in your thoughts that inevitably impact your actions. When you open the Bible, it will suddenly come alive. It’ll speak to you more personally, convicting you, encouraging you, challenging you, inspiring you, make your heart burn with passion for God. Then, you will begin to bear fruits “worthy of repentance,” and grow confident in who you are and who you are in the sight of God your Father.

How To Defeat The Two Forms Of Temptation

I pray for you precious sisters every day. I love you all and it is my great desire to see you walk in power, faithfulness, and the blessedness of the Lord by your obedience to Him. I want to talk to you ladies about the practical instructions given to us in several places in the bible: “Flee youthful lusts; Run from temptation.”

I believe as Christians, our flesh has been crucified because the bible tells us it has, but if you feed the flesh long enough, you can fall into sin. There are two forms of temptation. The first is what I’ll call Satanic Set-ups. Sometimes, the devil sets us up. In Job chapter one, Satan goes to God and asks if he can tempt Job to blaspheme by taking away his belongings. In Luke chapter four, Jesus is just following the Spirit as always, and Satan shows up to try and tempt him.

Then there’s Self-inflicted Temptation. This is what the bible describes as our own desires drawing us away and enticing us. When there are worldly desires in our heart that we have not crucified, that we have not put to death, these are the desires that can eventually lead us away from Christ and into sin.

In order to resist Satan and stand strong, we must first do this:

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭5-14‬ ESV)

How do you practically put to death what is earthly or worldly in you? Jesus gives one answer:

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭23)

First, simply deny yourself. If you desire to read an erotic novel, you refrain from doing so. If you desire to watch a worldly tv show, you do something else instead (preferably meditating on something excellent, pure, perfect, holy, while cleaning or serving someone for example).

Then there are other things we can do like not hanging out with immoral friends because bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33), or cutting an ungodly relationship. Accountability, which simply means you are open and honest with another Christian, helps as well. You typically know what causes you to trip up and it ultimately comes down to who you will choose to serve: self or God.

I pray you choose Jesus, because He alone promises to have a good, acceptable, perfect, and pleasing will for your life that will only be discovered and experienced if you offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God and renew your mind through His Word (Romans 12:1-2).

Who else loves you as much as Jesus does? May the love of Christ compel you to daily pursue the right thing for His sake.

Know you worth,

Natasha ❤

Dear player, you want a dime piece, or a priceless princess?

“Dang lil’ mama, you got some back!”

“Girl I just wanna get up in them jeans.”

“Your body is bangin’!”

“You are so fine, I gotta take you home.”

Okay, I’m going to stop now, or else I’ll vomit on the keyboard. Yes, sexual and lustful passes are NOT princely, as in honorable, respectful, and truly romantic. They’re actually quite disgusting. Because who the heck do you think you are, man who isn’t my husband, to basically tell me you just want to use my body for your naughty pleasures? Now I know some girls ask for it with how they dress themselves, but that’s because they haven’t discovered that their value and worth isn’t in their fading beauty, but in the fact that God made them for a specific purpose, and loves them to the point of giving His own Son up to die for them. Yet still, man up! Be a leader by setting the example of a true prince, display nobility, honor, respect, dignity, and watch how you influence women to act the same way. I am sick of men like Lil’ Wayne leading other men to be disrespectful, lustful, selfish, careless puppets. Why don’t you start manning up, rebelling against that evil mentality and begin honoring the God whose got the best game for snagging a worthy wife than any self-proclaimed player walking this planet. It’s easy to get a “dime” because that’s about how much she values herself, but it ain’t so easy winning the heart of a girl that’s priceless. That is, unless of course you’re not following the footsteps of the rappers, but are walking in the ways of Jesus, the true heart-winner, the fliest man to ever tread this earth, then it’s a breeze. To a priceless princess, godliness=sexiness, worldliness (imitating the world rather than God), is a turn-off, not to mention our Heavenly King doesn’t want us to settle for you. You either man up and become a prince, or continue to step down, makin’ yourself a toad.

Gentleman, know your worth. God’s got  better plans for you, plans you cannot even ask, think or imagine, plans that getting girls and money don’t even come close to! I share this advice with love. If you were wronged by a man in your life who should have been a prince, leading you in how to show and earn respect, don’t believe the lie that you’ll be no better so you mine as well not even try. God doesn’t make mistakes, we do. So don’t make the mistake to choose to settle for where you’re at in life. Choose to test God, take the King at His word, and see what He can do with you. He’ll take all the dirt, and robe you in pure white linen, He’ll take you from a toad to a true prince that makes your mama proud, makes younger men look up to you, and godly women to want a man like you. You can do it, all you have to do is give up the fight, and surrender to the Commander of the winning side. His name is Jesus, and He’s waiting to enlist you.
