Becoming A Proverbs 31 Woman Day 13

24She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. [again, we’re going to focus on verse 25 since we’ve already established the Proverbs 31 Woman sows). 25Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭24-25‬ NKJV)

Strength and honor are her clothing. In previous posts, we’ve talked about her strength (strong arms from all the gardening and house keeping), and this is just a quick reminder that the Proverbs 31 Woman is not lazy. She’s strong because she’s doing stuff for her family, for the poor and needy. Cooking, cleaning, sowing, gardening, she keeps busy.

I think keeping busy is a great principle for Christians. But not busy in just anything. Busy in kingdom work. Busy in serving others in love. I believe when we’re busy doing the Father’s will like Jesus was, it keeps our focus in the right place. But with busyness for God, we also need that necessary alone time with Him, or we’ll get burned out. Christ made sure He spent a solid amount of intimate alone-time with the Father every morning and evening. He often withdrew to deserted places to be with His Heavenly Father, and we must do the same.

I know it can seem hard when you have small children to raise and family to take care of, but God will bless your attempts. First thing in the morning, as the kids are still asleep, just on your bed get immediately into worship and thanksgiving. Then grab your bible and read. God first, hubby second, kids third. You’ll be a better example to your kids anyway if they see God is first in your life. And when God is first, naturally, you become honorable.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.(‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ NKJV)

Proverbs 31 Woman Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name I thank You for Your mighty power within me. Please help me to lean upon Your strength, and to be renewed. May I be an honorable woman who pleases You in all I do. Amen.
