I’m A Christian; Kegs At My House Everyone!

“In the same way He also took the cup after supper and said, “This cup is the new covenant established by My blood; it is shed for you. But look, the hand of the one betraying Me is at the table with Me! For the Son of Man will go away as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed! ” (Luke 22:20-22)

Do we not know that when we sin against Christ, we are betraying Him? We are rebelling against His will for our lives. When Satan rebelled against God, he was thrown out of heaven and cast into darkness. He continues to rebel, and his end is eternal destruction. We should not assume that if we likewise continue in sin, in rebellion against God’s will, that we will somehow escape God’s wrath and hell.

“…let us draw near [to God] with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!” (Hebrews 10:22-31)

I’m speaking to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We have no advantage over the one without Christ if we continue deliberately sinning. Jesus commanded those who desired to follow Him to pick up their cross, deny their self, and follow Him. We must deny our desires if they are contrary to His will. We must obey what He says if we are His disciples.

“When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:10-23 NLT)

So please pray to our Father. He is ready to forgive with fresh mercies each morning. Come to Him, walk into the arms of love, and repent. If you’re not sure if you’re in sin, ask Him to reveal if you are. He is faithful. Then really make it a goal to know His Word which clearly declares His will. Get into the New Testament and read it all the way through, then do it over again and again.

His desire is for your well-being, and sanctification is for our benefit. I love you guys.
